In accordance with the High-level University Key Discipline Accomplishment Scheme, FOSU Research Fellow Programme aims to attract high-calibre talents carrying out edge-cutting scientific activities, and thus to strengthen the University’s capabilities in academic research and technological innovation.
Applications are invited on a 4-year contract basis for research fellows, ranging from Senior Professor, Young Research Fellow to Postdoctoral Fellow.
Foshan University (FOSU) boasts her history dated back to 1958. With 362 acres over 3 campuses, namely Xianxi, Jiangwan and Hebin, the University has evolved into a beacon of high level institution of science and technology in Guangdong province in terms of distinctive key disciplines, since such 6 disciplines as Engineering, Materials Science, Environment / Ecology, Plant & Animal Science, Chemistry and Agricultural Sciences are ranked Top 1% by ESI. From 2021 to 2023, the University is successively ranked among the Top 1,000 in the “Academic Ranking of World Universities” by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. In 2022, Veterinary Sciences was ranked 101-150 and Agricultural Sciences 301-400 in terms of “Global Academic Subjects”, while Zootechny was ranked 17th and Maths 113th in terms of “China’s Best Subjects”. Positions Available
1.Senior Professor
*Requirements:
1) Holder of PhD degree from top-ranked universities.Or holder of equivalent degree working at top-ranked universities or disciplines;
2) Holder of Associate Professorship from top-ranked universities. Or holder of Professorship from ordinary universities;
3) Proven record of outstanding academic achievements over the last 5 years, including publications, patents and academic awards as the first author (awardee) or corresponding author.
*Remuneration:
1) A sum of taxable annual remuneration between RMB 430,000-1,200,000 yuan will be commensurate with the applicant’s academic qualification and his/her professional experiences concerned;
2) A research lab and the relevant scientific activity start-up funds will be facilitated;
3) A temporary free residence will be provided with. Or a sum of housing rental subsidy will be reimbursed for 3 years, should the applicant give up the free residence;
4) A sum of taxable settling-in allowance between RMB 200,000-4,000,000 yuan will be granted, subject to the applicant’s academic qualification and the relevant policy.
2.Young Research Fellow
*Requirements:
1) Holder of PhD degree;
2) Proven record of outstanding journal papers, no less than 2. Or proven record of 1 prominent achievement.
*Remuneration:
1) A sum of taxable annual remuneration between RMB 370,000-430,000 yuan will be commensurate with the applicant’s academic qualification and his/her professional experiences concerned;
2) A sum of start-up funds will be granted for research activity;
3) A temporary free residence will be provided with. Or a sum of housing rental subsidy will be reimbursed for 3 years, should the applicant give up the free residence;
4) A sum of taxable settling-in allowance between RMB 200,000-4,000,000 yuan will be granted, subject to the applicant’s academic qualification and the relevant policy.
3.Postdoctoral Fellow
*Requirements:
Holder of PhD degree, whose certificate issue date should be within 3 years backward. It is not eligible for application, otherwise; or
To-be holder of PhD degree, whose dissertation has been proven worth the title;
*Remuneration:
1) A sum of taxable annual remuneration between RMB 200,000-280,000 yuan will be granted and, a sum of taxable allowance RMB180,000 yuan /year will be granted for 2 years, subject to successful recruitment;
2) A total of RMB 200,000 yuan will be funded for start-up research activities, subject to proven proposal.
3) A temporary free residence will be provided with. Or a sum of housing rental subsidy will be reimbursed for 3 years, should the applicant give up the free residence.
